Rx:Home Software® provides a full electronic patient record, including referral source, physicians, hospitals, nurses, nursing agencies, measurements, diagnoses, drug and non-drug allergies, medical history, and insurance information with forms tracking. Patient records are easy to locate by a wide variety of search parameters. Patient status tracking enables flexible recording of user-definable status (e.g. pharmacy on-service) and events (e.g. catheter occlusion).

Inventory "macros" enable quick entry of commonly used kits and lists of items (e.g. hemophilia supplies). The prescription is entered one time, then Rx:Home Software: 1) interfaces with Medi-Span for drug interaction checking, dose checking, drug-disease checking, allergy checking, duplicate therapy checking, compliance checking, and patient drug education and counseling monographs; 2) prints the prescription report, compounding record, labels, delivery verification report, and prescription log; and 3) creates an invoice in the system ready to be reviewed. Per-diem, per-delivery, per-dose, and per-liter pricing are all supported, as well as pricing based on a factor times AWP, last cost, and/or list price. Prescriptions are then optionally locked to prevent accidental modification. Upcoming prescriptions can be scheduled easily and quickly; copying of prescriptions, generation of refills, use of standard pre-defined prescriptions, and transfers between branches are also very simple.

A reminder message can be displayed at the time of prescription entry when prior authorization is required. Authorization codes already in the system may be easily located and linked to the prescription.
